Julie Kaldenhoven

"As a child, my imagination was fired by the luminescent gilding and intense hues of Byzantine icons. My paintings are ties to my roots, bringing together past and present, old and new, real and unreal, life and spirit."

Julie Kaldenhoven has been winning prizes for her artworks since grade school. After graduating With Distinction from the Fine Art program at Grant MacEwan College in 1993, Julie experimented with various mediums and found that acrylics offer the boldness and immediacy she prefers.

Julie is active in various arts organizations and enjoys teaching art through community and gallery programs. Her works, including a commissioned portrait of Dr. Grant MacEwan, are held in private and public collections across Alberta.
